Experience Lasting, Meaningful Change

You might be here for a variety of reasons.  Maybe it is a desire for a successful relationship or finding a path to happiness.  You might be looking for specific care for grief, trauma, life transitions, depression and anxiety.  If you are experiencing fear, anger, frustration, being overwhelmed or a sense of hopelessness, you are in the right place.  â€‹

Life doesn’t have to feel this way.
Relationships can be fun and satisfying.

One focus of my practice is clients in demanding professions, especially healthcare.  I recognize how important your mental health is and how it fundamentally impacts your critical work. â€‹â€‹â€‹

How we feel deeply impacts all of us.

If we are suffering emotionally or mentally, it can truly lessen our quality of life.

I prioritize creating a warm, supportive environment for my clients, while earning trust so we can address hard topics. Together, we'll work to establish a deep understanding of why you feel as you do.  We'll develop skills to navigate life's uncertainties.  Let's embrace life’s possibilities through development of boundaries and individual authority.

Life is sometimes scary.  We cannot control all of its aspects.  But life also can be happy.

Together, we'll find the direction that you choose and the meaning that you value.

Why I Do What I Do

I have been a therapist for over three decades.  I’ve worked hard to provide a safe space where clients come for a fresh perspective.  They tell me they feel seen, challenged and championed.  And they tell me they experience lifelong, lasting, positive change.

I love my work.  It is crucial that I be exceptional at what I do, and that means continuously sharpening my therapeutic skills.  This provides the needed foundation for providing the best care possible for my clients.

With all my clients, Existentialism is a core principle - you are who you choose to be.  We will also leverage Mindfulness - being in the moment without judgment and accompanying breathing techniques.  For individuals, Psychodynamic Therapy speaks to tailoring other, more specific approaches to the individual’s needs and situation.  These specific approaches may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IT), Humanist Therapy (HT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and a host of others. Details of each can be found in my FAQ page.

Couples typically benefit most from EFT (Emotional Focus Therapy) approach which promotes emotional openness, deepening intimacy, and fostering of your bond.  By addressing underlying emotions and attachment needs, couples cultivate healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

I am an AASECT Certified Sex therapist.  AASECT certification helps ensure that practitioners in the field of sexuality counseling, and therapy meet the highest standards of competency, professionalism, and ethical practice, benefiting clients and promoting the advancement of sexual health and well-being.
